Introduction
Welcome to Upstate California Adventures Online. The focus of this website is to put potential visitors and residents of the Upstate California area in touch with its unique businesses and other stops of interest. The website utilizes Google Maps, which allows us to feature those unique businesses on a dynamic, drag-able, zoom-able, and even satellite-view capable map system. How to find members
Every business and/or place of interest is called a member. To find members, you have four options:
- Keyword search - The keyword search is the box located in the left-hand side of the website, under "search by keywords". To find a member, simply type in a few terms you're interested in, and click "search". If the search finds any results, it will list them in alphabetical order and display them on the map in groups of ten.
- Corridor search - The corridor search is used to search by what we refer to as corridors. There are three corridors; highway 99, highway 70, and Interstate 5 (see "corridors" below). If you know the member you are looking for lies within one of these corridors, you may choose this option. To search by corridor, find the drop-down menu on the left-hand side of the website, just below "Search for members". Now, click the menu, and select a corridor. The system will find all places in that particular corridor and list them in alphabetical order as well as display them on the map in groups of ten.
- Category search - Every member falls within a category. Categories are listed in the map legend on the left-hand side of the website on the very bottom (see "categories" below). Click on the category you wish to search through, and the system will find all places in that particular category and list them in alphabetical order as well as display them on the map in groups of ten.
- Member list - to get an alphabetical listing of all members, just click "all members" on the menu on left-hand side of the website.
How to find events
To find events in the upstate California area, you have two options:
- Search by member - Events are tied to members or areas on the map. If you are looking for a certain member's event, click "search by member location" under "Events" on the left-hand side of the website. This will bring up a list of all members in alphabetical order. If any of the members have events to view, there will be a link under their listing titled "Events". To see their events, click this link.
- Calendar search - To see a calendar with all events on it, click "calendar" on the main menu (next to home). This will take you to a page with a calendar. If there are any events, they will be listed on the calendar as a link. Click this link to see the event details.
How to get directions
To get directions to a particular member, you must first find the member you wish to get directions for by following the directions listed under "How to find members" above.
Once you find the member you're looking for, click "get directions". Now enter your address and click "get directions". This will pop up a page with directions to that member.
